I promised the blog, here is the first posting..
It's my second week in Doha but seems i have been here for ages but still unfamiliar with everything. Getting lost with the taxi is an every day situation. As taxis here don't use gps and i only know the area name and the company building's name (60 company accomodations are in Doha) it's not easy for taxi drivers to take me home.. and that the streets and houses looks exactly the same here, same grocery at every corner, same dark colored guys hanging around the street.. sometimes i don't even recognize my building coz all look the same.
The only time i went out alone to the street was when i run out of water and had to pop into the groceries to the corner. I had a feeling that everybody was watching me like a
The heat is so unbearable (even at night) that we never spend a minute outside. God bless the one who invented the air-conditioning :)
Because of the wather i haven't seen too much of the city yet - but discovered all the shopping malls. They are huge and all the English brands can be found here which i haven't seen anywhere else but in London. Shopping is probably the best thing to do here. Either food shopping or cloths. In Carrefurr i can spend hours wondering around the long rows of spices and exciting arabic stuff. Arabic gastronomy is one of the richest in flavours which i love.
And of course Qatar imports all kind
The course i'm attending is pretty exciting, more practial than the one i done before and eveything is completely different here. They seem very professional. Girls are lovely, instructor is funny making us laugh a lot.
Overall i have to say i'm quite happy here and now i know i made a very good decision moving here :)
